Beenie Man
Being Digital Media Coordinator for MD Entertainment involved me accompanying the King of Dancehall, Beenie Man, to his many performances localy and internationally. My chief role was to capture photo and video content for his social media pages and website, in addition to creating digital strategies for his various platforms, managing his website and digital channels, distribute and market his music globally, email marketing and occasionally design the artwork for his singles and other artistes under the MD Entertainment record label.
Working at MD Entertainment in this capacity also meant having to sometimes assist or even lead PR activities by executing damage control exercises and writing up press releases. I also temporarily occupied the role of Office Manager which included me managing bookings, confidential personal and company information, responding to calls and emails, accepting and securing payments and liaising with producers, artistes, promoters and other personnel within the industry.
This job role demanded the following key personal skills: creativity, communication, teamwork, flexibility, durability and trust. With the use of my content creation and copywriting skills, Beenie Man’s social media pages saw a sharp increase in engagement. My proudest achievement within this role was the introduction of a weekly online series, “Let’s Talk Dancehall”, which involved the artiste engaging directly with his followers on dancehall-related topics and issues and offering solutions to youngers artistes. This increased his digital presence and helped us to easily achieve our monthly targets for social media.
Simma
Beenie Man recently released his 17th studio album 'Simma' and I joined the MD Music Group team in creating the visuals for the album and the distribution to digital platforms.

#LetsTalkDancehall
#LetsTalkDancehall was a monthly online series with the King of the Dancehall I conceptualised discussing various topics about the Jamaican music industry.
This initiative was successful in creating a significant boost in social media engagement and helped to increase the follower count of the artiste.
